The Messiah's Arrival

Updated: Mar 25, 2023

For many centuries the prophets have talked of this Redeemer to come.

Jerusalem at dusk

AMOS 3:7 Surely the LORD GOD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.

The following Prophecies concern the plan for the Messiah's arrival as a child. This Blog presents a brief outline on this incredible subject.

The Messiah is BORN.

To meet the Bloodline requirements, the Messiah has to be BORN from the family line of King David.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

King Hezekiah was not the fulfilment of this Isaiah 9 Prophecy as he was already born when the Prophecy was given. Prophecies speak of the future, not the past.

Bloodline from King David.

Isaiah 11:1-2 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.

Jeremiah 33:15 “‘In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land.

The Messiah's spirit is not created.

When a human is conceived, his spirit is formed by GOD in the womb.

Zechariah 12:1 The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares:

But the Messiah's spirit is not formed in the womb like a human spirit, His spirit originates from eternity. The word "ancient times" is translated from the Hebrew word OLAM [עוֹלָֽם] meaning; eternity, everlasting, perpetual, for ever...

Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.

Bethlehem, Ephrathah, Migdal Eder will be His birth place.

Historically this place was used as an area where sacrificial animals were pastured before been taken to Jerusalem for sacrifice.

Micah 5:2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Micah 4:8 As for you, watchtower of the flock, stronghold of Daughter Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to Daughter Jerusalem.”

Date given for His arrival.

BETWEEN THE TIME, THE WORD WENT OUT TO REBUILD JERUSALEM

Daniel 9:25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.

UNTIL THE TIME, JERUSALEM AND TEMPLE WERE DESTROYED.

Daniel 9:26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.

The Messiah arrived and was put to death BEFORE Jerusalem and Temple #2 were destroyed.

His mother a virgin.

The word "virgin" is translated from the Hebrew word "Almah", meaning both virgin AND young maiden. If the mother was only a young maiden, and NOT a virgin, then the Hebrew word used will be "Naarah".

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

GOD calls him His son.

Psalms 2:12 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate His rule with trembling. Kiss His son, or He will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for His wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.

Proverbs 30:4 Who but GOD goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is His name, and what is His son's name? Tell me if you know!

These Messianic Prophecies contain many fascinating mysteries. This Messiah is no ordinary child, he is born human but has divine attributes. This is an enigma;

  • This child was born, and yet his origin is from eternity.

  • He was conceived in the womb, yet his mother was a virgin.

  • This child is Righteous, yet no human is born righteous Psalms 51:5

  • This child is called God, yet the Spirit of God is on him, and he was sent by God.

  • This child is born a mortal yet his name is the Everlasting Father.
